Most, if not all of our cats, come from Kill Shelters.  Many are older cats surrendered to shelters by owners who, for one reason or another, no longer want the responsibility of a pet. So they are discarded and left in shelters.

Others are surrendered to shelters for inappropriate elimination, not getting along with other cats, too much work, health problems, a new baby arrived, allergies of the owner and the list goes on for why the cat is dumped at a Kill Shelter. Others are just left with no explanation.

When the shelter calls, we then determine if we have room to take them into rescue. First stop after leaving the shelter is the Veterinary Office.

There they are tested for Felv/Fiv, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, CBC's/Blood Profiles are run, teeth are checked for dental problems.  Cats are bathed, treated for fleas and worms. Each cat receives a microchip. We make every effort to ensure each cat is healthy before they are offered for adoption.  Adopters receive copies of all medical records.

Many of these felines come from unknown backgrounds.  They have been abandoned or abused and many may need time to regain their trust of the human race.

We have a revolving door policy for all animals adopted through us, for the life of the animal.  If the adoption does not work out, for any reason, we want the animal to come back to us rather than be abandoned again, placed in an unsuitable home, or taken to an animal shelter where it may be euthanized.
